Speed date sessions with employers

Looking for a new employer? Join us during the speed date sessions with employers!

In at least three short interviewsof 3 minutes maximum you will meet potential employers. During these conversations you will find out in a short period of time if there is a match between you and the employers. To make a great first impression is very important! You can always learn skills, but you do or do not fit a company, there is little about it. 

Your résume is viewed in advance by experienced HR professionals and then matched with the jobs and employers.

What is speed dating? 
The selection interviews with prospective employers take place simultaneously at one location, namely in the MOCE Cube during the Maritime & Offshore Career Event. In the cube are a few tables where representatives of the relevant companies sit behind and take the interview. 

The interview 
The interviews are generally individual interviews of 3 minutes. After 3 minutes the bell rings and you can pass on to the next table. Per round you speak with at least 3 potential employers. When your résume matches with multiple jobs and/or companies, it is also possible that there are 5 short  interviews. The duration of a session will automatically be longer then. At the end of the interview you change your résumé for a business card and the employers will contact you to invite you whether or not for a follow-up. 

If there's a real match, there is a change that you will have your follow-up at the same day, during the exhibition itself! 

Why join the speed date?

  • By using speed dating you can quickly and effectively make a match between a potential employee/student and a potential employer. 
  • By conducting brief interviews you become quickly familiar with the concept job interview. Here you can gain an advantage for the future.
  • As a (potential) employee, you have the choice to apply at several companies, which increases the chance for a great job!
  •  During these interviews you will get in contact with companies that you normally would not think of as a potential employer.
  • Participating in the speed date during the Maritime & Offshore Career Event is free of charge!

Note: There are only limited places available for this speed dating; so be quick!

 

 

Preparation
Especially for the speed-dating sessions at the Navingo Maritime & Offshore Career Event the workshop "Preparing the speed-date ' is developed.  The workshop will focus on your preparation for the speed-dating session and pays attention to your personal presentation and interview techniques.

Impress the organisation that you want to work for with your elevator pitch. You are aware of your abilities and potential and you can present yourself convincingly in a (short) interview.

The contents of the workshop:

  • Introduce yourself in 30 seconds, the elevator pitch
  • Your unique selling points
  • Non verbal communication
  • your goals

The workshop is offered on 13 April in English and on the 20 April in Dutch. Both evenings are from 7 till 10 pm. Costs € 75, = ex VAT per person. For more information, visit www.detoekomstbus.nl
